1000 Any Street Value Shop Dear Sir or Madam: Hello, my name is John Doe. I am writing to you to apply for the full-time sales clerk position advertised in Sunday's Daily City Paper (10/18/98) at Value Shop in the City Mall. I currently work as a part-time dishwasher for Joe's Restaurant, located in Cherry Creek. I am seeking a new job that will allow me to work in customer service. I also want to change from working part-time to working full-time. I feel I would make a good employee because, as a regular customer at your store, I am familiar with its merchandise and the store layout. Working as a dishwasher in a busy restaurant, furthermore, has taught me valuable people skills. I would like to set up an interview to talk with you about the full-time sales clerk position. I can be reached at the following number until 3p.m. on both weekdays and weekends: (303)111-1111. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, John Doe |
