Complaint
This letter models a letter of complaint. It is important to remember when writing a letter of complaint to include specific details as well as the action you would like to see taken, if any. Also, like most personal business letters, it is important to keep the letter short and to the point. State your complaint in the first sentence of the letter and then follow with supporting details. If you have several things to complain about, list them.

1000 Any Street Pizza Village Restaurant Dear Sir or Madam: I am writing to complain about the service I received at Pizza Village on August 28, 1998. I called the Pizza Village restaurant, located at 3455 Village Drive in Denver, on August 28 at 10p.m. to order a pizza for pick up. When I arrived at the restaurant, not only was my pizza not ready when promised, but the pizza was not what I had ordered. The Pizza Village staff, furthermore, did not offer to correct the problem and demanded full payment for the pizza. While I have enjoyed Pizza Village pizza for years, I will not order from the Village Drive location again due to the rude treatment I received. I hope this letter will bring about a change in your business practices. If not, you can expect to lose more customers, even loyal ones like myself. Sincerely, Jane Doe |
