Dear Housing Manager:

I am writing to you to request the full return of my deposit for apartment D133. According to the terms of my lease, the check should be mailed within 90 days of the termination of the lease. My lease ended on May 31, 1998.

I believe I deserve the full return of my deposit because I was never in violation of the the terms of my lease: I moved out on the date specified and left the apartment clean and in good repair.

My original deposit was $300. I understand that according to the lease agreement $50 is non-returnable. I am expecting a check for $250.

Please send the check to the above address. If you feel that I do not deserve the full return of my deposit, please contact me at (303)111-1111.

Thank You.

Sincerely,

John Doe
former tenant in apartment D133
