Guidelines for Online Tutoring

Using the Send a Paper Form

You must submit papers or questions through the OWL web form at http://owl.ccd.cccoes.edu/owl/. This form allows us to track and document all submissions.

We welcome any comments you might have about our service by email at nancy.story@ccd.edu.

Sending a Paper

When you submit, please consider the amount of time that we need to respond to you and that you need to revise. We try to return papers in 24 to 48 hours. We respond to papers in the order we receive them, so please plan carefully for this turnaround time.

With consideration for the hundreds of other OWL users, please send no more than two papers or two drafts of the same paper per week.

Sending Revisions

You may send a paper again after you fully revise it. You may request to work with the same tutor who worked with you on the previous draft, but we cannot guarantee that that tutor will be available.

Sentence-Level Concerns (“Grammar”)

Please proofread and use spellcheck before you send a paper to the OWL. Tutors usually will not proofread for typographical errors, spelling errors, and other types of production-errors.
