Tessa Newman |
Tessa is a high school dropout; who, after finding several loopholes in the system, tested out of any further high school material and found herself in an honors composition class at Red Rocks Community College. The class was generated to do original research for the school. Tessa further pursued this interest and worked in the Office of Educational Assessment for over a year, which awarded her the chance to do even more research and writing. She also attended film school through the University of Colorado, simultaneously, and wrote and directed several short films, one of which was sent to a statewide festival on the volition of her teacher. She is currently a student at the University of Colorado studying Sociology and, of course, more writing. She prefers the online writing lab as an excellent resource for all writers. It is an amazing opportunity to really motivate students to critically analyze their writing through the use of questioning. She says that most people know what their strengths and weaknesses are at some level but that sometimes having an outside and somewhat anonymous source to help point these things out makes all the difference in the world. |
