Rebecca Gunther

Hi! my name is Rebecca Gunther, and I am currently working on a master degree in education at UCD.  My focus is adult learning and technology. I also love to write. For me, language is a thing to be played with and explored; it fascinates me.

I've been tutoring in the Writing Center since the Fall of 1998. I enjoy the collaboration, exploring ways to play with the language, and watching writers achieve their goals. I can also relate to the discomfort and stress many people feel when they need to write--I think I actually broke out in hives once. In the Writing Center, students find ways to take some of that stress out of writing, and that is definitely the most satisfying part of my job.

I began tutoring online in the Summer of 1999. Translating tutoring techniques to a form that works in cyberspace is challenging; since I like to play with language and technology, that's a challenge I really enjoy.
